AHLA Partners with Arizona State University to Create a Survey Analyzing In-House Counsel Compensation

  • March, 29, 2023

Washington, D.C. – The AHLA In-House Counsel Practice Group recently partnered with the Arizona State University College of Health Solutions Biostatistics Core to aid In-House Counsel as they navigate salary and benefits-related information with their industry peers.

To mitigate challenges associated with compensation and benefits, this partnership created a new survey to analyze health care in-house counsel compensation by years of experience, position, employer profile, and location.

“As a leader of an in-house legal team, I find the salary survey report is of great value to benchmarking my staff,” said Brian White, Chair of the AHLA In-House Counsel Practice Group. “This report will help us ensure we stay competitive in the marketplace of our peers.”

This new survey report examines in-house law department resources based on data from law department budgets, scope of work, organizational role, staffing, software, and performance metrics. Unlike other general counsel compensation surveys, The AHLA In-House Counsel Survey exclusively polls health care in-house counsel—more than 400 of your industry peers—ensuring that the results incorporate the unique considerations relative to the health care in-house legal department.

“We are excited to publish this survey to provide useful information to our members on compensation and related issues,” said Rob Anderson, Senior Director of Publishing. “We believe this data and analysis will be invaluable as departments benchmark their resources and compensation.”
