U.S. Court in Michigan Says Hospital Must Face Patient’s Disability Discrimination Claim for Failing to Provide Sign Language Interpreter

A federal court in Michigan largely refused to grant Henry Ford Health System summary judgment on a patient’s claims that its failure to provide an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter to her before a surgical procedure violated the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA’s) non-discrimination provision.
