Psychotherapy Provider Reaches $2 Million Settlement of False Billing Allegations

Carenow Services, LLC, a psychotherapy services provider, and its CEO Leena Karun agreed to pay $2 million to settle allegations that billed Medicare and Medicaid for psychotherapy sessions at nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities that were medically unnecessary, improperly documented, or upcoded, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia Kurt R. Erskine announced August 25.
