OCR Announces HIPAA Right of Access Settlement with Physician

The Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights’ (OCR) enforcement initiative to help ensure patients are receiving timely access to their medical records has resulted in a $15,000 settlement with a physician in Regal Park, NY of a potential violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule.
