Survey of Applicability of State General Privacy and Breach Notification Laws to Health Information

This survey reviews which states have general privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act) and how such intersect with health information (such as whether there is an exemption related to HIPAA). The survey also looks at each state’s breach notification law, whether it governs health information, and whether it includes an exemption related to HIPAA.
