Avoiding Burnout with Self-Care from "Fit to Practice" Podcast Host, Angela Han
Too many times we put our desires on the back burner, and it is not because of the lack of time. It is likely because we are more familiar with the pattern we've gotten used to, which is to serve others before ourselves. That is the rhetoric we are told to buy into when we begin the legal profession. That does not have to be the case. In fact, that must not be the case because resentment grows quickly, and resentment is at the foundation of burnout. Join Angela Han, an in-house counsel, a life coach, and the "Fit to Practice" podcast host to learn: how to easily make time for yourself without burning the midnight oil, figuring out what exactly to do during the time you have for yourself, and how to manage the resentment and burnout even if it feels impossible.

Community Connect

Tapping Your Emotions to Enhance Your Legal Practice
Being a successful attorney requires a lot more than simply knowing the law. It requires skills in connection building and trust to navigate relationships with colleagues, clients, juries, and even opposing counsel. Emotions are at the heart of building connections, and the tendency of lawyers to push their emotions aside can result in increased levels of stress, impaired physical and emotional well-being, and fractured relationships. Join Jen McDowell, attorney turned culture consultant, to learn about: the fundamental need for human connection, the role of emotions in creating and strengthening connections, and how to tap into your emotions for a more positive and productive legal practice.
